Salmon Crockpot Recipe
Make an easy salmon crockpot recipe using canned salmon. A recipe made in a crockpot is ideal if you are going out. Just prepare the canned salmon recipe and pop into the crockpot before you leave. It’ll be perfect for when you get back.
Ingredients - serves 4
- 1 large can pink or red salmon (I use red for preference)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 4 celery sticks, finely chopped
- 40z/100g cream crackers, crushed
- 2 medium eggs, separated
- 8fl oz/225ml half fat milk
- salt & pepper
Method
Preheat the crockpot for 20 minutes. And grease a large souffle dish or pudding basin
In a large bowl break up the salmon add the onion, celery and cream crackers.
Whisk the egg yolks and milk together and add to the salmon mix.
In a clean, grease free bowl whisk the egg whites until forming stiff peaks.
Using a large metal spoon, gently fold the egg whites into the canned salmon recipe mix.
Pour into the pudding or souffle dish, cover with greased foil and put into the crockpot.
Pour in ˝ pint/300ml boiling water, cover and cook for 5 hours.
Serve with béchamel sauce to which a tablespoon of chopped chives or parsley has been added and either a crisp, green salad or vegetable ribbons.
